What we do
Traction, decompression and mobilisation
Our TDM machine is a gentle method that supports recovery, and it is one of the things patients ask for by name.

What we do
What it does
The machine applies gentle, controlled traction to reduce pressure through a specific segment of the spine. It is comfortable, and most people find it a restful part of the visit.
What we do
When we use it
Most often where a disc is involved, or where a segment has become stiff and sore. It sits alongside manual care and rehabilitation rather than replacing either.
What we do
What to expect
You stay clothed and lie on the table while the machine works. Your practitioner sets the load and the time to suit your assessment.

Questions
Traction, decompression and mobilisation questions
Is it uncomfortable?
It should not be. The traction is gentle and controlled, and you can ask us to stop at any point.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your assessment. You will be given a plan with review points rather than an open ended course.
Is it used on its own?
Rarely. It works best combined with manual care and the rehabilitation exercises that keep the change in place.
